Basingstoke Voluntary Action

Local Champions Needed

Hampshire County Council are pleased to offer local residents and local staff two volunteer Champion roles to register for. The aim of these roles is to support good health and wellbeing and prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our local communities. See https://www.bvaction.org.uk/a-call-for-local-champions/

Guidance for Charity Trustees

In these challenging and uncertain times, charities need to feel confident they’re getting things right. The Charity Commission has produced a series of 5-minute guides, designed to help trustees provide the best possible oversight to their charity. Workshops In April

A range of organisations have set up some free events to take place in April that ensure you stay connected while staying at home. While some workshops have already taken place, like the 'find a funder' event where it was excellently explained how to use the funder database, as well as the workshop on how to gather data for volunteer surveys, exploring what volunteers may need now, there are still many workshops to come:

Learning from Elsewhere: How Charities are Adapting to Virtual Fundraising – Thursday 15th April 10:00 am – 11:30 am. Exploring how charities and community organisations from around the UK are responding to the changing landscape of delivering fundraising virtually.

Small Charities Budgeting: What’s it Going to Cost? – Friday 23rd April 10:00 am – 11:30 am. It is tricky to work out how to translate what you are going to do into how much it is going to cost. This workshop will explore: Why writing a budget is useful, who to involve in building it as well as how to do it – ideas, tips and signposts.
