Chineham and Old Basing NWR (National Women's Register)
Hopefully we have just had our last meeting via zoom and this month our topic was Islands of the British Isles. Apparently, we have well over 1000 islands, depending on your definition, but 136 that are permanently inhabited. We looked at Holy Island of Lindisfarne, St Agnes in the Scilly Isles, the Island of Mull and Canvey Island which gave us all new ideas for possible future staycation destinations.
Our lunch club resumed this month with a very pleasant meet up in The Bolton, following guidelines of course. Our book group is still meeting via zoom on 4th Thursday of each month in the evenings but hoping to resume face-to-face meetings very soon. This month we are reading Shame by Jasvinder Sanghera which was recommended following her excellent talk provided by our National Group.
We continue to be thankful for NWR's National Group for all the talks, quizzes and myriad of other activities and support it has provided throughout the last year so if you would like to take advantage of all our organisation offers do come along. You are welcome to sit in on any meetings with no obligation to join or even speak if you would prefer to observe. You can be sure of a warm welcome.
